Description
The Marketing Coordinator plays a central role in driving sales growth and brand visibility by ensuring product listings are optimized across all marketplace platforms. This role combines analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, coordination with suppliers and platform partners, and a strong grasp of effective product content and brand alignment. The Marketing Coordinator supports the E-Commerce Specialist and commercial team in executing strategic marketing initiatives and maintaining high standards for product presentation.
Skills required
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with marketplace platforms (e.g., Amazon, Takealot) and content management systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and analytics tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Catalogue Optimization:
• Optimize and maintain product listings (titles, descriptions, pricing, images, keywords) across retail and marketplace platforms.
• Prioritize and manage the SKU list (gold, silver, bronze categories) to meet weekly catalogue optimization targets.
• Submit product update requests to platform partners (e.g., Amazon, Takealot) and track progress to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure all product listings are fully compliant with merchant platform guidelines and SLA metrics, including image, content, category, and policy requirements
Supplier and Asset Coordination:
• Liaise directly with suppliers to obtain updated product assets, specifications, imagery, and content that adhere to brand guidelines.
• Ensure all listing visuals and descriptions reflect the company's premium brand identity and positioning.
Performance Monitoring and Improvement:
• Monitor SKU performance metrics (views, conversions, customer reviews) and recommend targeted actions (promotions, product bundling, sponsored ads).
• Conduct regular competitor price analysis and keyword benchmarking to optimize product positioning.
• Identify and flag underperforming SKUs, suggesting strategies for improvement and recovery.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed documentation and checklists for each product listing.
• Generate weekly reports summarizing catalogue updates, performance insights, and recommended actions.
Commercial Support:
• Assist the commercial team with product setup and onboarding processes for new accounts and marketplaces.
• Collaborate closely with the E-Commerce Specialist and sales teams to ensure alignment in product marketing strategies.
